The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck Restaurant
Greenville-Spartanburg, SC
Project Description
The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck restaurant design at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) merges modern hospitality with the warmth of thoughtful design. Respite for a weary traveler comes in many forms: comfort food, a relaxing environment, affordable pricing, and efficient service. Oculus Inc. utilized its expertise to craft a fully custom space, without a defined prototype, that reflects the Wolfgang Puck brand through collaborative, tailored architectural solutions.
The design anchors the restaurant at the heart of the terminal’s Grand Hall, using tall vertical elements and an open plan to maintain visual transparency and attract foot traffic. A distinctive feature wall integrates lush vertical greenery and bold signage illuminated in signature red, creating a striking branded identity. Soft string lights and decorative lamp posts frame the entry and seating zone, evoking a relaxed, street-side café feel.
Inside, the bar becomes a visual centerpiece, wrapped in dark stone finishes and accented with open metal shelving for liquor and glassware displays. Backlit bottle displays and wall-mounted TVs support both ambiance and entertainment. Blonde wood bar stools and durable finishes offer a welcoming yet resilient solution for airport volume.
Throughout the space, finishes include black quartz counters, textured white wall tile, natural wood plank flooring, and banquette seating upholstered in dark blue fabric. The restaurant’s clean, modern material palette is brightened by generous daylight through floor-to-ceiling glazing, giving travelers a calm place to rest and recharge.
