Project Description

Pressed Roots is a specialized salon that was developed to provide hair care that addresses the unique qualities of textured hair that aren’t covered in standard salons. Pressed Roots connects trained stylists with clients in a thoughtfully cultivated and efficiently designed space to create happy, healthy hair without the typical salon wait times.

Oculus provided architectural design services for Pressed Roots’ Post Oak location in Houston, TX. Oculus worked closely with the Pressed Roots team to develop a design based on their brand standards. An existing two-story tenant space was transformed to serve the needs of the Pressed Roots team and their clientele. The lower level now serves as the salon area, boasting spacious shampoo and styling spaces, a welcoming reception area, a retail wall display, VIP room, employee break room, office, unisex restrooms, and storage space.

Oculus conducted a site visit to gather existing information on the tenant spaces to develop the design drawings. The design team then coordinated closely with Pressed Roots to further develop the floor plan and salon equipment layout plan. Oculus also developed the construction documents needed for GC bidding and building permits. The Oculus team coordinated with all engineering disciplines to combine the drawing sets into a single document.
