2017 Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Award
The Hotel Lucia is notable for being the very first boutique hotel in Portland, OR. It boasted clean, modern lines and referenced an art gallery. The Lucia, in its original form, ended up winning multiple national design awards. In September of 2014, Provenance Hotels hired Staicoff Design Company, a subsidiary of Oculus Inc., to redesign their most prestigious property.
Originally an extension of the Imperial Hotel, the building was first constructed in 1909. It was a popular gathering spot for visitors to Portland. The building itself was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003 and is deeply entwined with Portland’s history. Our design concepts retained the Imperial Hotel’s old charm while adding elements of art deco and modern appeal; essentially updating a legacy of excellence to appeal to the needs of a 21st century guest.
