When Sandra and Nick Arnerich, owners of The Oregonian’s 2015 Restaurant of the Year, decided to make a paradigm shift away from a well-known vintage home-goods towards their own original designs, Oculus Inc. became their co-conspirator and mentor in realizing their full potential through a complementary restaurant design.
Oculus Inc. answers business challenges like: “How do we create a unique little-daughter-restaurant for one of the most successful Italian spots in PDX?” with creativity, experience, and flexibility. Together, we created a fast casual approach to Italian-American Dining. For patrons, grab-and-go AND relax-and-linger both have a spot one of the three long, communal tables that act as a centerpiece for the Figlia experience. White walls, black accents, pastel fixtures, and a counter arrayed with pastries became a physical manifestation of Sandra and Nick’s beliefs, values, and spirit. Figlia now stands as more than a work of architecture, but rather a client-driven solution to a specific set of needs.
