Project Description

As part of an investigation into the possibility of designing a Seismic Retrofit & Renovation project at the VAMC in Portland, Oregon, the Dept of Veterans Affairs selected our team to analyses & propose options for providing seismic retrofits on the Portland VAMC’s two main campus buildings (Building 100 & Building 101). Building 100 is nine stories (plus penthouse), 680,392 GSF & is listed as number six on VA’s Extremely High Risk (EHR) Building List, & Building 101 is six stories, 129,692 GSF & is listed as number 44 on the EHR Building List. The proposed renovations will mitigate deterioration & failure of the buildings’ tile façade & bring them up to current seismic code.
