Project Description
Oculus Inc. provided architectural and interior design services for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The project delivered a new two-story, 139,928 NUSF Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) to expand access to Veteran healthcare services.
The project required a detailed understanding of VA healthcare planning standards. Oculus aligned all work with VA Design Guides and the VA CBOC PACT Prototype. This ensured consistency with national VA facility requirements.
The team worked directly with VA user groups and stakeholders and carefully analyzed and validated the clinical programming requirements. We translated these needs into a comprehensive, coordinated scope of work suitable for procurement and delivery.
Oculus developed the Solicitation for Offers (SFO) documentation. This included technical criteria used to solicit competitive construction proposals. The documents supported clear alignment between clinical intent, operational workflows, and facility performance goals.
Following contractor selection, Oculus provided design review support and submittal coordination. The team evaluated submissions for compliance with VA standards, applicable codes, and program requirements. Recommendations were issued to maintain design intent and quality assurance.
The resulting Outpatient Clinic supports efficient, patient-centered care delivery. It provides a flexible and scalable framework that accommodates evolving Veterans’ healthcare needs over time.
