Washington University Rebstock and McDonnell Renovations
St. Louis, MO
Project Description
Washington University in St. Louis requested interior design services from Oculus Inc. for two finished renovation projects for Rebstock 215 and McDonnell 162 classrooms.
The project scope included new finishes: replacing carpet at aisle ways; new upholstery for existing, fixed classroom seating; new paint colors for walls, floor, ceilings, and window trim; and new vinyl wall treatment under the chalkboards.
In addition, the stage/instruction area was sanded and re-varnished, and new window treatments were specified with “dual” functioning window treatments. In the McDonnell 162 classroom, the scope also included investigating adding an epoxy coating to the exposed concrete flooring; specifying new mobile tables and chairs to replace the existing furniture located in the instruction area; and finishing the replacement of the back row of existing seating, which has been partially replaced at the time.
