Position Overview
We are seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer with a passion for thoughtful, high-quality design and a strong technical foundation. The ideal candidate has 2-6 years of experience, is NCIDQ certified or working toward certification, and thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, and play an active role in the continued success and expansion of our interior design group.
This role also includes move management coordination, requiring an organized, proactive designer who can balance multiple tasks and communicate effectively with clients and project partners.
Key Responsibilities
Project Design & Execution
- Plan, develop, and execute small to mid-scale projects with varying complexities.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure successful project delivery.
- Apply sound design principles and creative problem-solving techniques in production work.
- Oversee project documentation, production, and implementation through all design phases.
- Provide move management coordination, including planning, scheduling, and client communication during relocation or installation phases.
- Support QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with current codes, regulations, and firm standards
Team & Office Development
- Assist in developing and refining office templates, workflows, and drawing standards.
- Participate in design discussions and firm-wide initiatives that shape the growth of the interiors team.
- Contribute to a collaborative, supportive, and organized studio culture.
Business Development & Marketing
- Collaborate with team members to prepare marketing and business development materials.
- Represent the firm professionally in client meetings and presentations.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional interior design experience.
- NCIDQ certification or currently pursuing certification.
- Proficiency in Revit, InDesign, and MS Office Software.
- Solid understanding of building codes, design standards, and construction processes.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities and coordinate logistics effectively.
- Interest in improving design workflows, quality standards, and internal processes.
- Commitment to producing accurate, high-quality drawings and documentation.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, or Enscape.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
- Knowledge of BOMA calculations.
- Desire to pursue additional certifications, accreditations, or advanced training as the firm grows.
