Interior Designer – Portland

We are looking to hire full-time Interior Designers, who are detail-oriented, creative, and excel in solving problems in 3-D, to join our Portland office.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans and develops small-to-medium scope projects with many complexities
  • Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating staff assignments on small-medium scale projects
  • Participate on large scope projects
  • Participate in all phases of design for projects, collaborating with other team members/disciplines and clients
  • Participate in preparation of programs and space planning concepts
  • Select and specify Finishes and FF&E
  • Knowledge of material costs and staying current on design trends
  • Detail interior construction and architectural millwork
  • Preparation of construction documents and specifications
  • Applies sound and diverse knowledge of interiors and architecture principles and practices in a broad array of assignments and related fields
  • Acts independently regarding design methods and complexities
  • Works with the Project Manager to maintain project schedules and budgets
  • Supervision and guidance mainly concern overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters
  • Follow building codes, ADA guidelines, and design guides as required by government project
  • Provides oversight and monitoring of work of less experienced Staff

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or graduate from an accredited interior design program
  • Proficient in Revit
  • Working knowledge of other industry standard software such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Interest in developing and maintaining quality drawings, and efficiencies within the office
  • Well-rounded knowledge of the design/production process
  • Experience assisting clients through the design and construction process
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize the work process, accurately evaluate the time necessary to complete the work, and communicate effectively across the team and with the client
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of project teams executing both interior design and architecture scopes of professional service

Preferred:

  • NCIDQ – certified/ In process
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of other modeling software such as Sketch Up & Enscape is a plus
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign a plus
  • Knowledge of BOMA calculations a plus
  • Willingness to continue to grow with the design industry thru new software training and/or additional certifications/accreditations
